Huawei may no longer have access to Android updates and device certifications. This has been apparent after an executive order and the U.S. Commerce Department blacklist has been set in motion.

Huawei, including other companies, is now facing difficulties to pursue business with U.S. entities. Google has to comply with the new trade blacklist which includes Huawei and 68 of its subsidiaries. The said bar was enacted since last week after the Chinese tech giant was place on the Entity List. This bars the company from purchasing equipment from U.S. companies unless it gets approval from the government. However, Commerce Department is unlikely to give the permission as of the moment. SSS new contribution rate starting April 2019

The increase in the Social Security System (SSS) contribution rate and the pension fund for workers in the private sector will be implemented by April this year. The said increase is 12% from the recent 1 percentage point.

Concurrently, the minimum and maximum monthly salary credit (MSC) will rise up to P2,000 and P20,000, respectively. The MSC is where the 12 percent contribution rate will depend. Readmore

The highly-anticipated New Manila International Airport in Bulacan is now one phase ahead from realization as San Miguel Corporation (SMC) President Ramon Ang announced that the project will break ground this year.

Facebook will be competing against dating apps to help users find long-term relationships. Mark Zuckerberg recently revealed that Facebook will be rolling in new dating-service features.

Though the design is expected to compete with dating apps such as Tinder and Hinge, Zuckerberg emphasizes that Facebook’s features will be different since it aims for people to develop a more meaning relationship rather than just hookups. Facebook rolls out Reddit-style downvote button to its users in New Zealand and Australia. This new tool lets the users to give their feedback about comments and tells Facebook whether the comments are disrespectful or has bad intentions.

The popular URL shortening service, Google URL Shortener also known as goo.gl, is shutting down. Firebase Software Engineer Michael Hermanto announced the closure of one of the most useful tools on the internet which allows users to easily share links, measure traffic online, and shorten URLs. Starting April 13th, new and anonymous users would not be able to create links through the console, but existing users can use the server for at least another year.
