The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and the Metro Manila Council (MMC) have recently announced the implementation of a new single ticketing system in Metro Manila, as part of their efforts to streamline and improve traffic management in the cities.

The single ticketing system will allow interconnectivity among government agencies responsible for transport and traffic management, with harmonized fines and penalties for traffic violations.

This will provide a more convenient and efficient system for motorists who have been cited for violating traffic rules, as they will be able to settle their penalties anywhere, regardless of where they were apprehended.

According to Metro Manila Council (MMC) head and San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora this is already approved and the process will start probably this April.

UPDATE: The implementation of the single ticketing system for traffic violations in the National Capital Region will begin on May 2, the Metro Manila Council (MMC) announced yesterday. The unified ticketing system will start just after labor day as per MMC head.

The new system, to be implemented under the Metro Manila Traffic Code of 2023, will also help to harmonize existing national and local laws on traffic enforcement, as specified in MMDA Resolution No. 23-02. This will create a more effective transport and traffic management system in Metro Manila, helping to reduce congestion and improve the flow of traffic in the region.

The MMC has stated that the new single ticketing system will be in effect in the first quarter of 2023, and local government units will be required to pass ordinances adopting the Metro Manila Traffic Code of 2023 by March 15 to fully implement the new system.
