United States Visa Applicants will now be required to submit any information about their social media accounts. These social media accounts should have been used for the past five years prior to the VISA application.

This used to be a requirement only when US officials deemed it necessary to further scrutinize an applicant’s personal details. However, Associated Press (AP) reported that the social media data is now needed both for immigrant and nonimmigrant visa forms. This additional required info was first suggested on March 2018 to incorporate it with against the watch lists generated by the US government. Readmore

SSS new contribution rate and schedule of payment

The increase in the Social Security System (SSS) contribution rate and the pension fund for workers in the private sector will be implemented by April this year. The said increase is 12% from the recent 1 percentage point.

Concurrently, the minimum and maximum monthly salary credit (MSC) will rise up to P2,000 and P20,000, respectively. The MSC is where the 12 percent contribution rate will depend. Readmore

The highly-anticipated New Manila International Airport in Bulacan is now one phase ahead from realization as San Miguel Corporation (SMC) President Ramon Ang announced that the project will break ground this year.

The Department of Foreign Affairs launched its passport ePayment Portal. This is to increase the agency’s capacity to receive and process passport applications. It is also cited that the ePayments initiatives can greatly decrease the number of no-shows for passport processing.

Foreign Affairs Secretary Cayetano shared that this new payment system can bring convenience since passport applicants can pay the fees anywhere. It is also expected to maximize the capacity of every consular office. Readmore

Philippine Passport is now 10 years from the Current 5 years

The Philippine Passport will now be valid up to ten years from the current five years after a signature from the President.  This after Senate approved the bill extending Philippine passport validity during its third and final reading.
